Hi! I'm Bill Clements. On the following pages
I'd like to show you the boats I've built and the beauty of a wood
boat. There's no man-made material that can match or equal the lustrous
beauty and grace reflected in a finely crafted wood boat. I enjoy
working with wood - take pride in my craftsmanship - and give my
customers excellent value. I would love to hear what your dream
is and would be pleased to help you fulfill it. My business is all
about making dreams come true.
Since 1980 I have been a boat builder building
traditional wooden boats and restoring wood-canvas canoes. My boat
building from the beginning has been lap-strake construction varying
from traditional cedar planking on bent oak frames to glued-lap
plywood construction. I endeavor to produce wooden boats from the
highest quality materials that will require minimum maintenance.
To achieve this end my primary construction method is glued-lap
plywood, using high quality marine mahogany plywood with all hull
surfaces coated with marine epoxy and all joints bonded with epoxy
glue. The wooden boats I build vary from original 19th century designs
to contemporary designs influenced by the earlier traditional boats.
I also sell a full line of wood boat and canoe restoration supplies.
