Brass Canoe Tacks
Oval head tacks work best for planking because the heads can be
readily driven below the surface of the wood. The 5/16"
flat head tacks are used to fasten the canvas to the face of the
stems. 3 oz. are enough for one canoe.
11/16" tacks approximately 1,000 per lb.
- For majority
of canoes, use 11/16" tacks.
- For heavily-built
craft such as square sterns, use 7/8"
tacks.
- For lightweight
canoes with 1/4" ribs and
1/8" planking or scale model
canoes, use 1/2"
tacks.

Copper
Canoe Tacks
These 11/16” flat head tacks are recommended for the restoration
of older copper fastened canoes and for canoes that will be used
in salt-water. Salt-water will corrode brass fastenings
