Services and Instruction

Many people want to do all the hands-on work of restoring an old canoe, but due to the lack of proper equipment or space, or the uncertainties of personal skills, their project stalls out.

To help them over the rough spots, I have assisted many people by fabricating for them some of the more difficult replacement parts, such as stems and rubrails, or I have given them instructions on applying canvas filler.

If you bring your canoe to my shop, in one day I will teach you how to put on the canvas for $350, plus the cost of the canvas. Other individual instructional time working on your canoe in my shop may be scheduled at $35 per hour, 4 hours minimum, plus materials.
