Historically Correct Canvas Filler
Any
canvas filler, to be effective, must contain a fungicide to
prevent the canvas from rotting. The time tested fillers of
the past all used white lead as the preservative. In developing
my traditional filler I also use white lead as the fungicide.
I have also developed an unleaded filler that uses copper Napthenate
as the fungicide. One
gallon of filler will do a 16' canoe covered with #10 canvas.
Order an additional quart for a 17' or 18' canoe.
